THE MANDEM SAFE
The Mandem safe is a project coming from the creative minds of Kim & Joe creative ltd.
The 'Mandem safe LX' and ‘Mandem safe SC’ perfectly fit inside any hinged shoe-box with semi circle cut outs in the lid and these measurements written inside -

Once you've got the right size slipping the Mandem Safe SC inside couldn't be simpler.
Just slot it inside your Nike shoebox and you're all done. The product can be seen at http://www.themandemsafe.com/
On the LX version a magnetic Key card lock. The latch is released when passing the card in front of the safe.

On the SC version one key controls two locks at either side of the cover. Both lock cams catch a sheetmetal return from the base via a cut out & secure the cover closed.
RENDERING
Realistic representations helped aesthetic choices in addition of presentations and marketing.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Development of the initial design and extension of the range by researching new ways of using the product.
DRAFTING
Each components are defined on a manufacturing drawing providing the different suppliers with dimensional information as well as dimensional and geometrical tolerances, materials and finishes.
CONCEPT
Research and concept development through sketching, UX, processes of manufacture and methodology.
PRESENTATION

prototyping / TESTING
2 prototypes were required to define the Mandem safe SC (first version). Prototyping was essential in order to define the best way to set the hinge as well as establishing the exact position of the locks and the set up to smoothly close of the safe.
